- How much foreign travel was undertaken by councilors and council employees. List the dates, the number of personnel, the reason for the trip and the cost
- How many council employees are full-time trades unions officials. List the number, the job titles and the salaries.

But always remember to be polite and courteous when framing your requests. It goes a long way, and you will probably be developing something of a relationship with FOI officers over time.
As a crochety old fart I can only agree with such, but it rathers begs my next question - why should we have to?
Why should a freedom of information request be necessary to find out how they spend my money? Frankly, if I want to look at the receipt then I should be able to by walking into my property (the council offices) and asking of my employee (the desk staff) to see whatever the hell I like.
Yes, FOI is a necesary and good idea, but it still allows the state to hide behind lies, obsfuscation and deceit. The real power will come when every single penny is published, along with who requested and who authorised it's expenditure.

So demand the Whole Budget by Line Item is posted online. Why should Councillors see the Budget and not the Ratepayers. Councillors are EMPLOYEES of the Council on at least £13,000pa plus telephone calls, computers, travel, meals.
