Frankly, if I want to look at the receipt then I should be able to by walking into my property (the council offices) and asking of my employee (the desk staff) to see whatever the hell I like.<br /><br />Yes, FOI is a necesary and good idea, but it still allows the state to hide behind lies, obsfuscation and deceit. The real power will come when every single penny is published, along with who requested and who authorised it's expenditure.<br /><br />That said, rant over.
